Ilse-Wallentin-House in Vienna

The new library and seminar centre by SWAP Architektur and Delta Projektconsult expands the campus of the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna. The wooden building provides seminar and institute rooms, a library as well as pool and user rooms for a total of 500 students. Apart from the basement and the staircase cores made of reinforced concrete, the four-storey building consists entirely of prefabricated cross-laminated timber elements. The construction grid can be read on the facades. The supporting structure thus becomes an essential design element.
