BAU, the World's Leading Trade Fair for Architecture, Materials and Systems, is the biggest and most important event in the sector. The next BAU takes place from January 11 to 16, 2021 at the Messe München exhibition center. Around 2,300 exhibitors from some 45 countries and over 250,000 visitors from all around the world are expected to take part. In 19 halls covering 200,000 square meters of exhibition space – for years the site has been fully booked – BAU showcases architectural solutions, materials and systems for commercial and residential construction and for interior fit-out, for both new-build and renovation and modernization. Every two years this event brings together market leaders from the sector to participate in a unique international display of competence spanning all the construction trades. The exhibits at the fair are organized according to building material and also product and theme area.
BAU targets all those who work in the field of planning, designing, constructing and managing buildings of all kinds. It is also the world ́s largest trade fair for architects and construction engineers, attracting more than 68,000 design professionals. The many interesting and topical events in the sup-porting program, including high-caliber forums with experts from all over the world, round off this industry showcase.

Bayerische Architektenkammer / Bavarian Chamber of Architects
The Bavarian Chamber of Architects (ByAK) is a body of public law and fulfils the responsibilities of public administration. Supervisory authority is the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior. The Bavarian Chamber of Architects represents the interests of its members: about 24,500 architects and interior architects, landscape architects and urban planners in the Federal State of Bavaria. Only those persons who are registered in the Chamber of Architects in their respective federal state are entitled to call themselves "architect", "interior architect", "landscape architect" and/or "urban planner". These occupational titles are protected by the rules and regulations of the Chambers of Architects of the German Federal States.
The principal tasks of the ByAK are – as noted in the Bayerische Baukammerngesetz (Bavarian Law of Building Chambers)
• to strengthen the awareness of architectural culture
• to act in the interest of its members in public and at political level
• to provide consumer protection
• offering general consulting services for members and the public and expert advice in technical and legal matters to all members
• to carry out public relations for the architectural profession
• to offer education and training in all aspects concerning architecture
• to promote and facilitate architectural competitions
• to offer support in all questions of planning and building handicapped accessible physical structures
The Team of Excellence for the Culture and Creative Industries is a service provided by the City of Munich to support the culture and creative industries in the Munich Metropolitan Region (MM). It offers free advice to individuals and companies working in every segment of these multi-faceted industries, supports their image building and networking efforts, and helps them find suitable office space and premises. The aim is to promote the culture and creative industries, encourage the sharing of experience and realize valuable synergies. The competence team offers the diverse key industry a forum to formulate their needs and to network. One goal is to help both the public at large and the wider economy to perceive these industries more clearly as an innovative force.
NETWORK FOR ARCHITECTURE EXCHANGE NAX
Since 2002 the Federal Chamber of German Architects (Bundesarchitektenkammer) supports German architects and planners with the Network for Architecture Exchange NAX in their move abroad. Supported by industrial partners and in constant exchange with political and economic stakeholders as well as in close cooperation with other members of the German Value Chain on Construction NAX advocates with its activities and projects in order to promote the brand „Architecture Made in Germany“ internationally.
NAX as a network platform brings together internationally experienced architect, engineers and specialized planners with colleagues, developers and investors in Europe and worldwide. NAX informs about economic and political developments within the international construction sector and delivers important information for planning and building processes abroad. Furthermore NAX promotes the high quality of architectural services with a wide range of activities (e.g. trade show appearances, delegation visits, exhibitions, business dialogues and CPD seminars) and represents the competence of German architects of all disciplines, engineers and specialized planners.
