The Bridge, G8A

Two Concrete Cores in Hanoi: The Bridge by G8A Architects

Surrounded by warehouses and logistics halls, The Bridge consists of a sequence of horizontal platforms borne by two concrete cores. On each level, this creates a support-free interstitial space with generous panoramic windows on both sides.

In stark contrast to the urban density of Hanoi, The Bridge creates a sequence of spaces which, as the architects explain, features expansive office areas that enable the highest degree of flexibility. With the deliberately recessed façade, the architects look to the future with a view to economic growth forecasts predicting a need for more building projects in the surrounding district.

While the entrance seamlessly branches off from the footpath, porous elements -  such as the mesh on the entryway side and the planted latticework on the rear of the building - serve as passive sunshades. The tall open shaft on the back side of the office complex enhances natural ventilation.
