Illuminating geometry: Faceted lights by Studio Avni.

Copper dome lightHer are some interesting lamps from a young Indian designer named Avni Sejpal who was trained in London, but who now works out of Mumbai.

Her family background is in textiles which has informed how she regards materials, and has influenced how she works with them.

The lights illustrated here are made from brass, copper and PVC, and although made from different materials, explore the same triangular grid pattern. This interest in adapting grids was no-doubt fostered during her architectural training.

Another beautiful quality about the lights is that they are hand made. This gives each one a slightly irregular appearance complimenting the strict logic of the geometry.
