Corpus for individual freedom of design
The square and rectangular ceiling elements "Corpus", designed for OWA by star designer and architect Hadi Teherani, are providing effective lighting accents and pleasant room acoustics in the canteens of Beckhoff Automation GmbH & Co. KG, a manufacturer of automation technology based in Verl in eastern Westphalia, Germany.
The architects' office Kitzig Interior Design designed the hospitality rooms of the company catering facilities for four Beckhoff sites at once. The interior designer describes the design concept of the new premises using the keywords "open", "communicative" and "bright". "Employees should here be granted time off and a change of pace. A preferred place to visit during lunch breaks which contributes to a harmonious atmosphere in the company", is to be read on the architect's website.
The ceiling constructions were planned and installed in cooperation with Odenwald Faserplattenwerk GmbH (OWA) from Amorbach, the Lippstadt based interior design office Kitzig and the architectural office Heitmann from Gütersloh.
After evaluating different variants, the decision was made in favour of the "Corpus" system from the OWAconsult collection because of its interesting design possibilities. The modular building block system consists of ten differently dimensioned, rectangular and square acoustic elements with fine, white, fleece-laminated surfaces.
As the owner has also requested a modern lighting design, dimmable Corpus LED luminaires which can hardly be distinguished from the acoustic elements create a pleasant light in addition to the drop-shaped lamps.
Conclusion: With the elaborately planned company canteens and the decision to use high-quality and internationally award-winning designer ceiling canopies from OWA, Beckhoff Automation has created a stimulating place for its staff to have a relaxing lunch break.
