Night life: Japanese forest with fireflies.

These incredible long exposure photographs of fireflies were taken by Yume Cyan in Japanese forests in Nagoya and Okayama.

It is interesting to note how the intermittent illumination of the flies is exposed as a series of dots rather than a motion blur. As dawn arrives, one fly buzzes with all lights blazing only to fade away into the light.
