Time / space distortions: Furniture by Takeshi Miyakawa.

We tend to think of sci-fi movies, or even large brained scientists when we talk of space / time distortions, but these simple furniture items by New York based, Takeshi Miyakawa, create ripples in space around tea time!

Using mirror polished acrylic, these pieces reflect their surroundings and almost vanish into the background. Once constructed the pieces are heat-treated to create ripples in the surface that distort the reflections in a beautiful way.
