Shifty is a wall-mounted writing desk designed by Daniel Schofield.

The British furniture and product designer and maker Daniel Schofield created the wall-mounted desk Shifty for use within smaller living spaces.

Shifty is made out of solid ash and is proportioned to provide enough surface for writing. In addition to a small drawer in the front, Shifty has a hidden compartment where one can keep personal documents and electronic equipment in a safe and out of sight space: When pulling the entire work surface forward, the compartment is revealed with various recessed areas in which one can put their belongings. In this way the workspace also extends giving one more room to work.

The furniture piece Shifty is intended by the designer Daniel Schofield to be a modern interpretation of the classic writing desk. If he could manage to make the desk wall-mounted only, i.e., would be able to get rid off the metal support below the desk, it would conceptually be a even better piece of furniture and a great addition to any urban apartment.
