(No) Cold Coffee: Green Decafè Luminaire by Raúl Lauri

(No) Cold Coffee: Green Decafè Luminaire by Raúl Lauri

This luminaire project is the brand new winner of the first prize at the Salone Satellite, an exhibition for young designers held in Milan every year.

The Spanish designer Raúl Lauri had the brilliant idea of using recycled coffee grounds as the basis for the material of the Green Decafè luminaire series. This lighting is not only 'green' and sustainable, it’s also very stylish. But that’s not all: the coffee-brown porous material comes with a hint of a coffee smell.

Different versions of Green Decafè are available, including pendant and free-standing, or even a wireless version on a wooden base, which switches itself off when placed upside down.
