Islands of Bliss: Pompom Design by MYK

Islands of Bliss: Pompom Design by MYK

The more functional and no-nonsense that our surroundings become, the more we long for surprising details like this one...

Each item is unique: the multi- or uni-coloured woollen objects are hand-crafted on order by the Berlin designer Myra Klose MYK. Up to 1,200 pure merino wool pompoms, each made by hand, are combined to create a variety of truly original objects, with the bigger ones weighing as much as 45 kg.

The round carpets invite to cuddle, but my personal favourites are - and not just because I support the protection of animals - the life-size hearthrug animals. Somewhere between art and design, these objects are ideal for giving a room that special something.
