Museum Can Framis in Barcelona

The Museum Can Framis presents itself in a pleasantly restrained way, situated among the mostly new multi-story commercial buildings within the former industrial quarter of Poble Nou, located between Barcelona’s center and the coast. While only two commercial buildings and a smokestack remain of the factory’s former four blocks, it comprises an important testimony to the then-important textile industry. The architects complemented the almost parallel existing buildings with a new reinforced concrete wing between them. Matching light grey color covers the quarry stone facade and the building apertures infilled with masonry in the existing construction, joining new and old in harmony.
