Luminous Urban Design by Reflexion

The Zurich-based office Müller & Truniger Architekten, which emerged from an ideas competition, provided a concept for the creation of a new attractive urban space to connect a converted area in Winterthur with surrounding districts. Underground passages for pedestrians and cyclists were created on both sides of a track corridor and across road cuts, as well as two urban squares. The lighting design of Reflexion AG by Daniel Tschudy and Jonas Godehardt also forms part of the overarching design elements. It includes indirectly-illuminated roofs, benches illuminated from underneath and a 45 m-long light wall with colour sequences that change according to the time of day and season.
