School Extension in Wooden Construction

The Sabine-Ball School in Darmstadt combines an elementary school, secondary school and grammar school in one. In 2018, due to increasing student numbers, mobispace was awarded the contract for an expansion to the school in timber-frame construction. Local office Architekten was responsible for the planning. In the summer of 2019, prefabrication of the modules began at the factory. At the same time, the floor slab and supply lines were laid on the construction site. By the autumn of 2019, the elements had been assembled on site. Directly afterwards, installation of the building services and the interior work began. In May 2020, the new school building with a total GFA of 1720 m² was occupied.
