Naturally high-tech

For more than 80 years, rohi, a family-owned company, has been driven by the desire and expectation of its customers for high-quality products with great designs that initially may not even seem feasible. The rohi design team does not work behind closed doors. Instead it prefers to interact personally with its customers in the Air, Living and Public areas. Whether for well-known or renowned furniture companies, the designs are individual and specially tailored to the needs and quality requirements of customers, with rohi benefiting from the synergy effects of the technically-complex Air and homely Living areas. Using its specialist textile expertise, the company transforms designs into haptically-inspiring fabrics.

The use of only the highest quality raw materials and own manufacturing facilities in Germany ensure that the products have the high quality-standard of a premium manufacturer. The favourite raw material remains wool, because as the company states: »Wool is a naturally high-tech product with unique characteristics. No other material is as inherently climatic, breathable, odour and stain-resistant as wool, or is able to spring back into shape to the same degree. Moreover, wool is environmentally friendly and extremely durable.« Thanks to its years of experience in processing this natural material, rohi is able to produce fabrics with an extraordinarily lush feel, softness and particularly high shine. Ongoing standardised quality tests under controlled conditions in its own test lab, enormous flexibility and short delivery times round off the manufacturer’s quality standards.

In addition to manufacturing individual upholstery fabrics, it also stocks fabrics in seven different grades and a wide range of colours. In 2015, rohi together with 13RUGS developed a new upcycling product: Elaborate and unique handmade carpets are now produced using the selvages from fabric production in a specially developed multi-stage felting process.
