Clay Building Boards for Walls and Ceilings

Clay boards from Lehmorange are suitable for use throughout interiors, and display different advantages depending on room use. With their high heat storage capacity, the boards are particularly suitable for use in attic conversions, but also for the interior cladding of exterior walls – especially in new timber construction or refurbishment. In old buildings, for example, the existing exterior walls, which often have poor storage capacity, can be effectively retrofitted. If they are brick walls, the clay boards can be easily applied to the existing wall using clay adhesive and reinforcing mortar. This special, natural adhesive is composed of clay and cellulose fractions. Partition walls, too, can be constructed with clay boards. For this purpose, the boards are attached to metal or timber frame constructions on both sides, and subsequently provide a high level of sound insulation. For example, basic clay boards from Lehmorange on a timber framework with jute insulation and plaster achieve a sound insulation value of 52 decibels.
