architectureworld goes Ruhrgebiet
Date: 20. - 21. October 2016
Venue: Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, Emscherstraße 71, D–47137 Duisburg
13 speakers create the agenda of the two days, one of them is Spela Videcnik of OFIS, Slovenia, presenting some of their projects under the motto "inspiring limitations", including a 4-star football stadium set in a forest. Wolfgang Priedemann, CEO and namesake of Priedemann building envelope consultants, compiled a work report on smart facades, whereas Jan Wurm (ARUP, Berlin) has already realized one in the form of a bio-adaptive facade on four storey BIQ house in Hamburg. Mick Eekhout (Octatube, Netherlands) speaks from his huge experience of 30 years of design and glass structures. Peter Ebner from Vienna, who – together with 3M futurelab and an international and interdisciplinary team of students – developed a transportable mini-house by 3D printer, will speak about the future viability of this technology, while Hans Vermeulen (DUS Architects, Netherlands) converted the concept already in a canal house in Amsterdam. The international speaker panel is enriched by Hadi Teherani, Patrik Schumacher (Zaha Hadid Architects) and Holger Kehne (plasma studio).
