Gnawing boundaries: wooden figures by Aaron Demetz.

We have all seen terrible hair transplants where the aesthetically challenged surgeon has planted new hairs in rows making somebody’s head look like a plantation… well hold that thought for a moment while pondering these sculptures by Aaron Demetz.

London is being treated to a show from the Italian sculpture Aaron Demetz who is showing with the Korean, Shan Hur in The Tainted exhibition at the Gazelli Art House.

Demetz has been exploring the human form for some time, but here his incredible wood carving skills seem to gnaw away at the very line between nature and the fabricated construct. Read more

Going underground: Art Souterrain, A festival of art in Montreal, Canada.

Running until the 17th March in Montreal, is Art Souterrain. It is the fifth year of this annual exploration of the underground spaces of the city. It is held in 14 different interconnected complexes both above and below ground, and includes three metro stations. Read more

Oh to wander: Cloud installation by Mason Studio.

Poets and other types of dreamers have looked at clouds and somehow wished they could be touched, or perhaps they could wander with them.

This dream is explored with this installation designed by the Canadian design firm Mason Studio. They have created a field of clouds for the Toronto Design Offsite Festival 2013. Read more
