A Room For London David Kohn Architects in collaboration with Fiona Banner

Installed on the roof of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, A Room For London is part of the 2012 Olympic year cultural celebrations. The proposal is for a boat perched on the roof appearing as though stranded after a great flood. The idea, developed by David Kohn Architects in collaboration with Fiona Banner, evolved from travel narratives and in particular the ‘Heart of Darkness’, the novella by Joseph Conrad whose hero set sail from London on his journey to Africa.
